SMS.TV SMS SCAM AND FRAUD

 Hi Guys

Please beware of company called as SMS.TV. THEY ARE FRAUD AND 100% CHEAT.There are about 100 of companies who are suffered loss due to this company.lets come together and fight against this cheat called as Joerg lamber

The guy’s name is Jorg Lamber from Germany and he has several different company names under which he operates. (Geißenbrünnchen 32, 66539 Neunkirchen, Germany, +49 6821 1799264) Other names he operates under are Marketing Lambers, Saarpromotion Lamber GmbH – Emails: info@sms.tv, joerg.lambers@sms.tv, support@sms.tv
Here is his MO:
He does 2 things:
1) He uses free email accounts like the one in this URL to promote his fraudulent service: http://www.klenn.de/news//OnlineMail700.html
2) He let you test on a high quality route and when you buy, he degrades the route to low quality or a route where you get false message id’s. When you ask for tech support or confront him about it he close your account and block you on email, MSN, ICQ etc. and when you phone there is just an automated recording that plays.
3) His second trick is not considered fraud by the banks – what he does is give the bank account number of one account at one branch and an IBAN of another account at another branch on his invoices. He requires payment upfront which is not unusual in the SMS industry. The banks use IBAN for international transfers – when you try to stop funds and phone his bank, they do not ask for the IBAN but the bank account number and put a stop funds instruction on that account. In the mean time, the funds goes into the account linked to the IBAN number and when the banks phone him when funds are recalled, he refuse to refund. He also closes your SMS test account the moment he realize that you sent the money. So you sit without money and without the service. Once again he blocks you and cuts of all communication.
So please learn from our mistakes and avoid dealing with SMS.tv as they are the biggest fraudulent scam in the SMS industry. They have been reported to all authorities for prosecution but he bought a hotel in Thailand with the stolen money and most likely run the scam from there.

Mobile ad market to reach $6 bn by 2014: Juniper Research

With increasing mobile penetration in India, mobile advertising will be critical in reaching rural audience. Companies are using voice-based services to overcome barriers of languages

Mobile advertising is bubbling with enthusiasm and activity. The mobile is emerging as next advertising and marketing medium and India ia evolving as a hottest destination for mobile advertisers. And it is evident from the number of mobile advertising companies that have cropped up in past few years.

According to projections from Juniper Research, mobile advertising spending will swell to nearly $6 bn by 2014 from just $1.4 bn this year. Advertising space is increasingly moving towards 'below the line activities' such as mobile phone ads-offering umparrelled opportunity for consumer segment.

Mobile web advertising alone is projected to grow fourfold to a $2 bn market over the same period, according to New York Times projections. The growth will be generated by a surge in mobile internet usage, and an accompanying increase in consumer adoption of mobile internet services. Juniper expects much of the growth to come from emerging markets such as China and India, where fixed-line connectivity remains low. For example, mobile accounted for nearly 90% of all internet users in India in 2008.

Industry sources say 22% companies are expected to increase their mobile advertising spend in FY 2009 as compared to 15% that companies did so 2008. Telecom and FMCG sectors are investing around Rs 20 crore to Rs 35 crore on this medium to communicate their product messages in rural area. With increasing mobile penetration in India, mobile advertising will be critical in reaching rural audience. Companies are using voice-based services to overcome barriers of languages.

As compared to other forms of advertising like TV, internet, radio etc, mobile is evolving at a rapid pace because it is considered more cost effective, personalized and result driven. According to a report from Mind Commerce, examining the current mobile marketing and advertising market in India more and more companies are using the medium of mobile to leverage it as a platform to enhance brand awareness and increase sales effectiveness.

Mind Commerce estimates the world market for mobile marketing and advertising revenues will reach nearly $50 bn by 2014, up from about $ 29 bn today, growing at a five year CAGR rate of nearly 12%.

Today the growth of mobile advertising is fueled by improvement in mobile devices from hand phones, mobile TV,search engines and it also offers operators a new revenue stream from companies promoting their brand, innovative ways to drive business and increase user satisfaction.

With an increasing proliferation of mobile phones and mobile internet, mobile advertising is being considered as the new catalyst for generating revenues. Few years back, mobile advertising was a niche market but now it is gaining momentum among operators, service providers and handsets manufacturers.

One of the biggest factor driving the mobile advertising market in India is the tremendous growth of the Indian telecom sector. The cost of talking on mobile is very low in India. It is extremely cost efficient to use mobile for interaction and mobile platform is creating big opportunities for advertisers to use this medium and expand their reach.

Realizing the huge potential of mobile advertising in India, many new players are expected to enter this space in the coming few months. It is also expected that many small and medium VAS players will move into mobile advertising space. Advertising via mobile is more appealing as it can target user more directly. In a bid to realise the potential of this emerging medium, some companies in India are very active in this space and already started offering innovative services like sms 2.0 technology from Affle, MyToday service from Netcore Solutions, SMS Gupshup from Webaroo and mGinger service from GingerSoft Media.

Indian mobile advertising market looks poised for huge growth in future. New developments in the field like 3G technology, GPRS and mobile video are likely to create immense opportunities for mobile advertising to grow. However there are several bottlenecks that must be overcome before mobile advertising can live up to the expectations which includes network speed, quality of service, lack of business models, lack of devices etc.

SMS to YSR's security officer helped track chopper wreckage

An SMS received by a mobile phone of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S R Reddy's security officer John Wesley after the VVIP helicopter crashed is what provided the most crucial clue to trace the accident site, government officials said here today.

"The most innovative means to locate the accident site of the Bell-430 helicopter was adopted this morning by tracking the signal from a mobile phone of one of the passengers on board the helicopter. The mobile phone had received an SMS at 1206 hours yesterday, about two-and-half hours after the helicopter had gone missing from the radar," they said.

Though they refused to divulge details of the service provider or the contents of the SMS, the officials said with the help of the last signal from the mobile phone the crisis committee set up in Hyderabad decided to concentrate their search for Reddy's helicopter within a four-km radius from the spot where the mobile phone signal was tracked.

On the suggestion of the IAF representative in the crisis committee, two Chetak helicopters from Hakimpet Helicopter Training School (HTS) of the Air Force was launched this morning at 6.30 Hours and after a two-hour search they found the wreckage around 0830 hours.

SMS Banking A New Way to BANK

Businesses are in move. So is to be your money. You may have to thank the banks which are providing banking at the send-of-your-sms. The technology is at its highest level to move your money while you are on the move. If you are having non-WAP enabled mobile handset, you can use the facility of SMS services. The following operations can be easily used by the service provider:
Balance enquiry
Last three transactions
Cheque payment status
Cheque book request
Statement request
Demat - Free Balance Holding
Demat - Last two Transactions
Bill Payment
The SMS facility brings peace of mind to customers and opens doors to many more technological possibilities and innovative services. It is very similar to how an ATM works.

To use ATM, a card is necessary and to use SMS service, a mobile phone is needed. In both the cases, secret number is necessary to access.

SMS banking is also very much safe. First, one authenticates the mobile number with the authentications key. Second, the customer uses secret Mobile Personal Iddentification Number (MPIN).

A new concept has been developed by Bank of Punjab Ltd. They call it "Mobile Wallet". With the support of this technology, a customer can make payment and receive payment of account of buy/sell (merchants) through SMS.

In this system, a buyer sends a message for buying and the bank in return sends a message confirming the purchase both to the merchant as well as to the buyer. Debit card number is the key field which is used for the authenticity of the customer.

The processes of the service are simplified as under:

Customer has to send "REG(one space)(Account Number)(one space)(Debit Card Number)" as an SMS to bank's mobile number 9810999992 for registration. For e.g. "REG 06SB11052122 5047531105000109109" Bank will confirm the registration with the return message.

After that customer will visit nearest branch to collect the service brochure and get it filled.

Registration will be a one time process.Once registered, customer would be able to buy things from any of the registered merchant of the bank.

Customer need to send "PAY(one space)(merchant code)(one space)(amount)(one space)(Debit card number)" as an SMS on bank's mobile number 9810999992. For e.g for making a payment of Rs. 56.16 to merchant BOPSTC from card no. 5047531105000109109, Send the following message "PAY BOPSTC 56.16 5047531105000109109"

The transaction will be validated online and immediately funds will be transferred from customer account to merchant account.

Bank would send transaction confirmation as an message to both merchant and customer(buyer).

An SMS report will be sent to both merchant & buyer everyday stating the total number of transaction & total amount of transaction made during previous one day.

SMS to check on the efficacy of drugs on the Nigerian market

Background
A Team of Youth is developing a technology to use SMS to check on the efficacy of drugs on the Nigerian market. Consumers can send SMS to the platform to check on the efficacy of a drug, and then a reply would be sent to them indicating the genuineness or otherwise of the drug. And create a comprehensive support system for HIV positive patients.

This project aims at curbing the menace of fake drugs on the Nigerian market and to safeguard the health of Nation and also focuses on increasing communication between doctors and patients because this is an issue identified by both doctors and patients as being one in which assistance was needed.

Our concept is relatively simple, a server sends out text messages to patients to remind them to take their individual daily pills, refill their prescriptions and attend their doctor appointments. Patients respond to the individual pill reminders to either confirm that they have taken their medication or if they were unable to then they identify the reason they did not. Patients who respond to their texts 50% or more of the time will be awarded a small prize every month such as airtime, phones, gift vouchers and other incentives.

We are planning to pilot the service out of the Specialist Hospital Abuja and NAFDAC with a cohort of 10,000 patients that have already failed first line therapy and been identified as having issues with adherence. We wish to run the pilot for about 4 months starting in mid-May and we will use this to prove that patients actually benefit from this type of service. During this phase we will be scaling up and improving the system and we plan to increase the availability of our system and increase the total number of patients enrolled.

2. Problem Statement
Many factors contribute to patients not taking their medication when prescribed, including adverse side effects, forgetfulness, inconvenience, lack of knowledge, etc. It takes long time to check on the efficacy of drugs on the Nigerian market. Don't know the genuineness of drug. This project aims to correct these interferences in the following ways:

Users will be able to subscribe to our service (free of charge) to receive reminders every day at the time the meds should be taken (even taking medications 20 out of sync with daily routine can cause problems such as resistance)
Although we cant alleviate undesirable side effects from the medication we hope to offer some form of incentive by offering rewards (at first free air time, phones, etc but to make it more sustainable we will move towards ringtone, wallpapers, games, etc that could be downloaded to their phones
Sometimes all that is needed is just a friendly reminder. So, patients will also be able to get their reminders in different forms (such as jokes, horoscopes, poems, etc. This helps to protect a patient's confidentiality)
We are also looking at creating an educational feature. By sending and SMS with a key word (such as HIV facts) they will get a response with a list they can pick from, which will then send another SMS with said facts
Send information of drugs genuineness/addresses etc.
3. Goals of the new System
Goals of the new system:

SMS must become the primary notification message type. Drug consumers and HIV Patients must get their reminders every day, on time.
Patients must be able to update their info via SMS
We must be able to send out high volume SMS. Starting pilot would be 500 a day
All notifications must be logged
We must have the option to create redirect SMS's for various reasons (such as patients asking questions, receiving incentive gifts, updating records, etc)
In closing, request AxtiveXperts for donating a license to our project. NGO, GOVT and individual to donate money for this project. The money we will save will be redirected to other useful purposes (such as buying a computer). Your companies desire to help us gives us all hope for a successful project that will hopefully help thousands, of peoples suffering from AIDS/taken fake drugs in Nigeria.

SMS Call Back

This is another clever way of reducing your mobile call bills and is particularly useful if you have chosen one of Voipfone’s SMS message packages.

With this Call Back service you send an SMS message to the Voipfone Call Centre which contains the number you want to call. Voipfone then connects you to that number at a much lower cost than a normal Pay As You Go mobile call.

You can call any telephone, fixed or mobile, anywhere in the world and you will only be charged at our standard low prices.

The advantage of SMS Call Back over ordinary Call Back is that you can pre-programme the whole call (SMS number and calling number) into your mobile phone. You then only have to call the pre-programmed name to make the call. Perfect for when you call a few people a lot or for when you’re in the car and can’t struggle to make a call.

How Much Does It Cost?

Because Voipfone is calling you back, the call is much cheaper than a standard mobile call. Apart from saving you a lot of money (up to £1.90 per minute for International calls while abroad, and 18p per minute for calls to other UK mobiles, depending on your plan.) you no longer need to top-up your mobile phone; you just keep credit in your Voipfone account.

The way this works is that Voipfone makes a call to you, then one to the person you’re calling; then connects both together. So you will be charged for two calls. But because our prices are so much lower than your mobile provider even with two calls we are much cheaper. You will also have a one-off charge for the SMS call at 8p. If you use our inclusive SMS service this charge can be reduced to 4.5p.

So to find out how much a call from your mobile to a land line in the UK would cost, look up calls to UK mobile (this is Voipfone calling you back); 11p/min (or less), then calls to UK (this is the number you want to call in the UK; 1.1p/min. That’s just 12.1p/min. (Don’t forget to add whatever you pay for an SMS message add what you pay for an SMS message onto the final total).

Have a look how cheap international calls are using Call Back – you’ll be surprised. (eg USA 12.4p/min; France 12.5, India 19.3p/min)

Riding the messaging wave ---Financial Express (Mumbai)

Welcome to the world of mobile messaging. Bulk SMS is no more a plain advertising tool. Enterprises, utilities, schools and even state agriculture departments are lapping up bulk SMS services to broadcast messages.

Mobile messaging has become an integral part of the mobile industry, contributing significantly to mobile services revenue. While SMS spam irks most mobile users, users seem to be discovering useful applications.

“Messaging today is no longer a spam. It’s more of a utility tool. Many customers demand it. For instance, everyone wants an alert for credit card payments so that they don’t have to pay the astronomical interest rates, or an update on flight times. Banks the world over use it for alerts and are, in fact, the biggest users of SMS alerts. Many of us want updates on new products; shopping offers; movie info etc. Spamming definitely is harmful when you get an SMS of having won a lottery, or an IVR number to chat with a girl where you are unaware that this is a premium number and will cost you Rs 20 per second. We have strict guidelines against spamming and have placed spam filters in our messaging platform,” says Rajdip Gupta, CEO, RouteSms Solutions.

Messaging solutions seems to be adding to the growth curve of the mobile phone industry, which is expanding despite the global economic slowdown. Strategy Analytics’ recent global mobile messaging forecast for the period 2001-13 indicates that global consumer spending on mobile messaging services will rise at a compounded annual growth rate of 6.4 % between 2008 and 2013. Revenue from mobile messaging services like SMS, MMS, mobile e-mail and mobile instant messaging will rise to reach $130 billion.

While internationally players like mBlox based in Sunnyvale, Silicon Valley, Clickatell in Redwood City, USA, end2end Denmark and Germany offer these services, India has a large number of players, including bulksms service, mysmsmantra, smsjunction and smscountry. Some of them claim to send upto 50 million SMS every month.

Though mobile messaging doesn’t compare with other forms of advertisement in volume or reach, it is beginning to find acceptability in India. “Mobile messaging market is ripe enough in various ways. Let’s compare it with other forms of advertisement. An individual watches TV normally for two to three hours a day, hoardings and print media advertisements just go in a blink, but mobile devices are with the user for more than 18 hours a day.

So messaging is one of the biggest and most economical advertisement options for companies to opt for,” advises Sandip Gupta, MD, RouteSms Solutions.

SMS solutions are gaining popularity with companies and enterprises who are involved in banks, credit card companies, event management firms, travel agencies, airlines, product distributors, direct marketing, FMCG, insurance, courier services, hotels and resorts that need SMS technology to improve their businesses through mobile marketing, customer relationship management and field force automation.

While messaging business may look attractive, it involves a huge expense on infrastructure setup, good quantity of man power and filters to control spamming.

Interestingly, bulk SMS services are now reaching out to rural areas too. Pune’s state agriculture department, for instance, is planning a messaging service in the state by which the department will provide the farmers advice and suggestions about agriculture, such as crop, rain and pests, and even the precautions they need to take. The advice will come in the form of an SMS to the farmers on their mobile handsets. And, services like these are now available in local languages too.

As the competition increases and costs decrease, bulk SMS services seem all set for a growth wave.

• Local utilities send SMS to warn you about a possible high tide.

• Life Insurance Corporation uses SMS service to inform you when your premium is due.

• Your local club regularly sends SMS about the upcoming events and their schedule.

• Airlines inform passengers of flight delays and save them the hassle of waiting.

• Schools send SMS to thousands of students to declare a sudden holiday.

sms in global market is now an essential tool in simple word you cant live without sms any more .Sms being used everywhere form personal to enterprise level. Sms is the most economical way of communication and much faster way to send your concern to other receiver. SMS has healthy future which continues to be the star of the data services show with traffic volumes and revenues that continue to confound predictions. Although the growth of SMS revenues will not be as aggressive as the growth of SMS volumes due to declining prices, by 2012 global SMS revenues are expected to reach 67bn USD, driven by 3.7 trillion messages.

SMS continues to be a phenomenal success as the cheapest, quickest and easiest to use form of peer-to-peer mobile communication. The SMS market despite declining prices continues to be fuelled by new subscribers. In last quarter in India itself more then 1 million new subscriber has been added to various mobile operator lists.

In last few years India has seen major interest of foreign mobile companies in Indian mobile market the question is why? Vodafone, vergin mobile etc so keen in Indian market in spite of cost of voice and data is too low as compare to other part of the world. Then why these company showing their interest?. The Answer is India has 1.1 billion people the mass is what counts the most we have more population then entire Europe being our service cost low but its number of people who are using the services that makes the volume and that is much more then any other country in the world.

Besides being an attractive revenue generator, high profitability is also a big benefit of SMS for mobile operators. Operators SMS margins estimates vary, but typically maximum of up to 80-90% of SMS messaging revenues being profit are often quoted

The world SMS messaging traffic is currently growing fast and we expect this trend to continue on the long term. We forecast that the world SMS traffic nearly doubles between 2009 and 2011, driven by strong growth especially in developing markets like India and china.
